New Scooter Laws Take Effect October 1, 2012
Please see the attached release concerning new laws that take effect October 1, 2012 regarding the registration and operation of motor scooters on Maryland roadways.
Photo Speed Enforcement Warning Period To Begin June 1, 2012
Beginning tomorrow, June 1, 2012, at 6:00 am, the warning period will begin for the Town of Denton’s photo speed enforcement program. A radar/camera unit has been placed on Sharp Road between 5th Ave and Trice Meadows Circle. For 30 days registered owners of violating vehicles will receive warnings in the mail. After the 30 day warning period violators will receive a citation for $40.
NEW PATROL VEHICLES
2012 Dodge Chargers
Denton Police have placed into service three 2012 Dodge Charger Patrol cars. These vehicles are the first brand new patrol cars that the Department has purchased since 1994. Between 1994 and 2012 the Department purchased used/refurbished patrol vehicles, however, due to increasing maintenance costs associated with the used vehicles this option became fiscally unsound. They will be being marked in the near future. Please look for them in your neighborhood.
