Denton Police sponsor or participate in numerous community based activities.  Below are a few examples of those activities.  Please call us if you have any questions or ideas about how we can continue to make Denton a safe place to call home.

Denton Night Out

Denton Night Out Against Crime is an annual event that is based on National Night Out. It is an event to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs, strengthen community-police partnerships and send a message to criminals that Denton will not tolerate crime in our community and that we, together, will fight back. Many government agencies set up booths with information on how you, our law abiding citizens, can assist us in deterring crime in our neighborhoods. Please check out our events page to learn more about this year’s event.

This years event was a great success!

The First State Band, Delaware's Law Enforcement Band, performed to everyone's enjoyment!

Fun and Games for the little ones!

Mr. George Jackson, along with Patti Wood and Chief Cox, saying thank you to our Troops around the world.

Neighborhood Watch

Denton Police will facilitate you in forming a Neighborhood Watch in your community. This program will assist us in helping you deter crime in your area and also, in the event a crime does occur, assist us in catching the criminals.  For more information about this very effective program go to the Neighborhood Watch website or give us a call at the Denton Police Department.

Collaborative Supervision & Focused Enforcement - CSAFE

The CSAFE program is an initiative through the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention, or GOCCP, that bring together local Law Enforcement, Parole and Probation, Juvenile Justice and you the Community in a collaborative effort to reduce crime. This is accomplished by more effective policing, data sharing between the partner agencies, providing drug and alcohol treatment and mobilizing the community. This program also funds technology initiatives to help combat crime. As part of that initiative the Department installed closed circuit video surveillance in key areas that were historically known for higher crime. Since installation several years ago those areas have seen a significant decrease in criminal activity. To learn more about this very effective program please contact the Denton Police Department either by phone or e-mail.
