The Denton Police Department is currently accepting applications for entry level patrol officers.  Maryland Police and Corrections Certification is desired but not necessary.

The Department offers a competitive salary and benefits package. 
Starting Salary:

• Entry Level: $36,175
• Lateral:  $39,793

Job Qualifications

To apply for the Police Officer job opening, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age at the completion of a six month training academy
• Be of good moral character
• Pass a written examination
• Pass a physical agility test
• Pass a comprehensive background investigation, psychological screening, polygraph examination and periodic drug testing
• Be a US Citizen
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have no felony convictions
